Maintenance Guide
Your PureFlow system is designed to be looked after by you. Replacing the cartridges is a straightforward job, and most customers do it themselves. If you’d rather we handled it, we can do that too.
How often filters need replacing
Generally every 6 to 12 months, depending on which system you have and how much water your household gets through. A bigger household, or a home running on tank water, will usually get through filters faster than a smaller one. We'll tell you what to expect for your setup, and we'll send you a reminder when you're due, so it's not something you need to keep track of.

Replacing your cartridges
It's a quick job. Before you start:
- Turn off the water supply to the system and open a tap downstream to release the pressure. Don't open a housing while the system is still under pressure.
- Have your replacement cartridges ready. Use genuine PureFlow cartridges. They're matched to your system, and other brands can affect performance or how your warranty applies.
- Take note of which cartridge sits where. The stages go in a specific order, and they're not interchangeable.
- Flush the system afterwards. Run the water through for a few minutes before drinking. It's normal for the water to look cloudy or for a tap to sputter at first, that's just trapped air working its way out.

What each system needs
Whole-house filter. Four cartridges handling sediment, chlorine, metals and scale. These are the ones most customers replace themselves.
Reverse osmosis. The filter stages and the membrane. The membrane usually lasts longer than the pre-filters.
Rainwater UV system. The sediment cartridges, plus the UV lamp. The UV unit has a built-in timer and alarm to tell you when the lamp is nearing the end of its life. UV lamps and quartz sleeves need care when handling, so if you’re at all unsure about this one, let us do it.

Buying replacement cartridges
Use genuine PureFlow cartridges so you know they fit and perform the way the system was designed to. Get in touch and we'll sort you out with the right ones for your setup.
Warranty
Every system we install comes with a full warranty. The whole-house units carry a 2-year product warranty and a 7-year workmanship warranty. Replacing your own cartridges the normal way won't affect that. If you're planning to change anything about the system itself, check with us first.
